January Volunteer of the Month
Tacshianna Dumas began volunteering at Alleve Hospice in October 2011. Visitors and staff members are greeted by her bright smile or cheerful voice on the telephone as she helps to keep the front office running smoothly. Taschianna also assists with the agency’s “Tuck-In” Program, helping to ensure that patients have everything they need for the weekend. She enjoys volunteering in the office because it teaches her about “what all hospice employees do” for their patients, and helps her develop her communication skills. Taschianna has a passion for animals, and hopes to attend OSU to earn a degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) after completing her basics at OCCC.
